Novaforma Studios is a specialized architectural visualization practice dedicated to crafting immersive narratives that translate design intent into emotionally resonant, technically precise imagery. Novaforma Studios began as a conversation between Francis and Kaymar—two designers who met in graduate school and quickly discovered a shared drive for creative autonomy and entrepreneurial clarity. After honing their skills within traditional architecture firms, they pursued freelance work to expand their capabilities and explore new modes of visual storytelling. What started as parallel paths soon converged: they merged their client bases and built a practice grounded in trust, precision, and a mutual vision for what design could communicate. That foundation became Novaforma—a studio where architecture is visualized with emotion, intention, and enduring clarity.
Every rendering begins with a question: How should this space feel? From that inquiry, we craft visuals that communicate not only the architecture, but the experience it promises. Each image is treated as a cinematic composition—framed with intention, calibrated through detail, and shaped to resonate. Whether visualizing a residential interior, hospitality concept, or commercial space, our work harmonizes rhythm, material, and mood to tell stories that endure.
As a lean, design-focused team, we value efficiency without sacrificing nuance. Defined roles allow creativity to thrive within structure, and our background in architecture informs every visual decision—from spatial hierarchy to the tension between surfaces. Technology supports our process, but emotion drives it. Through this balance, Novaforma Studios continues to build a visualization practice that is intentional, agile, and distinctly human in its execution.
Studio
Our process is built to merge architectural precision with cinematic storytelling. Every project begins with conversation—listening closely to our client’s goals, studying the design intent, and identifying the emotional tone that will guide the final image. This dialogue shapes the creative foundation for everything that follows, ensuring that every decision—from lighting direction to surface texture—contributes to a unified visual narrative.
We begin with modeling as a storytelling tool. From the earliest stage, we embed architectural details—such as 1/8" cabinet gaps, trim profiles, and surface transitions—to ground the model in realism and convey design intent from the start. Each model is developed with meticulous attention to geometry, proportion, and structure, organized by layer and color to streamline material application and maintain clarity across revisions. By refining geometry and removing unnecessary elements, we ensure clean imports and responsive files that enhance efficiency without sacrificing quality.
Leveraging real-time rendering software allows us to explore light, atmosphere, and materiality dynamically, enabling clients to see their space evolve long before final delivery. Each scene is composed like a photograph—framed with purpose, balanced through light and perspective, and tuned to evoke the essence of the design. Through iterative feedback, careful refinement, and consistent communication, we shape visuals that are both technically exacting and emotionally resonant. Every render is the culmination of design, discipline, and story—a crafted visual experience that captures the architecture’s true character.
Our Process
vision
Every project begins with a conversation. We take the time to understand our client’s expectations, design intent, and overall vision—defining scope, deliverables, and timeline from the outset. Early collaboration allows us to align creative goals and establish a shared understanding of the project’s direction. We request all essential information—architectural plans, elevations, material specifications, reference imagery, and design boards—to ensure precision and consistency throughout the process. These resources become the foundation for our storytelling, guiding how we interpret space, mood, and form. By starting with open dialogue and clear structure, we set the stage for a seamless and intentional visualization journey.
Modeling
Modeling is where the story begins to take shape. Working in platforms like Rhino, Revit, and SketchUp, we build highly detailed digital models from client-provided documentation and references. Every surface, joinery, and trim profile is crafted to a high Level of Detail, ensuring realism and accuracy from the start. Our models are meticulously organized by layers and materials, allowing for clean workflow transitions and efficient iteration. Beyond geometry, we focus on clarity and composition—refining and simplifying where needed to maintain responsiveness and precision. This disciplined foundation ensures that our visualizations remain true to the design while allowing flexibility for creative refinement later in the process
Rendering
Visualization is where precision meets atmosphere. Using real-time rendering tools, we explore materiality, light, and tone to create images that feel both architectural and cinematic. Throughout this stage, we share lighting and tone variations with clients, inviting feedback to refine the visual story. Final outputs are prepared in high resolutions—2K, 4K, or 6K—depending on presentation needs. We carefully compose each view, considering not just form and light but also the subtle narrative elements that bring a scene to life—people, vehicles, vegetation, and contextual details. These layers of storytelling transform renders into immersive experiences, allowing the viewer to feel the architecture’s presence and emotion beyond the frame.
BIO
FRANCIS KWOK
Francis Kwok’s architectural vision is defined by the pursuit of technical clarity and emotional resonance. As co-founder of Novaforma Studios, he approaches each project as a layered narrative—where modeling is not merely technical, but foundational to storytelling. His process begins with a deep understanding of form, proportion, and spatial hierarchy, translating conceptual ideas into detailed compositions that speak with intent.
Every trim line, cabinet gap, and surface transition is considered, calibrated, and composed to support the emotional tone of the space. Francis’s attention to detail ensures that each visual reflects architectural integrity while capturing the lived experience of design. His work navigates the space between precision and poetry—where light, material, and rhythm converge to shape how architecture feels, functions, and communicates.
Guided by a belief that architecture connects past, present, and future, Francis emphasizes early conceptual refinement and visual dialogue. Through Novaforma’s lean, narrative-driven approach, he continues to redefine how architecture is experienced, remembered, and shared—rendering not just buildings, but belief.
kaymar thomas
Kaymar Thomas approaches architectural visualization as a form of storytelling—where atmosphere, light, and precision converge to communicate design intent with emotional clarity. His narrative-driven process blends cinematic composition with technical discipline, transforming renderings into experiences that bridge concept and impact.
He believes rendering is not just representation, but revelation. Each image is designed to evoke mood, articulate strategy, and honor the character of place and purpose. Beyond the visuals, Kaymar develops workflows that empower collaborators, streamline creative processes, and reinforce the integrity of the studio’s craft. Assertive yet diplomatic, he champions lasting client relationships built on trust, vision, and shared intent—driven by the belief that great design deserves great storytelling.
